Thundersnow, Hairdryers and Naked Babies

Only Wednesday night and what a week so far here in Wisconsin. Yesterday, yes, in mid to late April, we had a combination of snow/rain/thundersnow/hail/sleet all day long. Just lovely. Gotta love the Midwest. I might not have been so crabby about it, but I'm home with Adah and her daycare swap buddy on Tuesdays, and I am just itching to be able to get outside with them. To make matters worse, poor Miss A has her first real diaper rash, and it's a yeasty one (sorry if that's tmi...). Now, I looooove our pediatrician - for many reasons, but especially because she's been lovely about an alternative vaccine schedule and because she's not hasty about antibiotics and doesn't prescribe them unless totally necessary. So for this little situation, she prescribed yogurt, warm baths, a little creme, plenty of naked time and a hairdryer to the bum to get it nice and dry. You are starting to get the picture. Amidst yesterday's spring weather nightmare, I was chasing a very giggly, very mobile, very naked munchkin around the house with a hairdryer. Hoping she wouldn't pee (or worse). And just having to laugh - at her good sense of humor about the whole thing, and about my own sense of humility - which grows daily as a parent. For real.

That mental image of you chasing A around the house is priceless...

Yeah, that is too much! Things you never thought you'd do, right?
