Whew, long time, no posts. It's been a full few weeks. Spring has arrived, work has been off the hook busy, we're picking up the pace on winter blah abandoned house projects (and really, how many coats of white paint can it possibly take to cover up ugly wood trim, for real?!?), and we're chasing after a very mobile and busy almost 11 month old. Yipes!
So this is a short and light-hearted post. To make a confession.
I think I like jeggings. I might even want a pair.
I know, I know. I was officially horrified when my mom bought a pair for Adah, thinking, "alright, we'll wear these once, take a picture for Grandma, and call it good." Well, we now do laundry because the jeggings need to be washed. She wears them all of the time, and they are so stinking cute - especially with that cloth diaper booty!
And now, a new development - many of my students are wearing them to class. It makes such good sense - my modern elective classes are only 50 minutes, so for my non dance major students, they can hop over from the biology building, take class and then head right back to another class without messing with extra clothes, a locker room etc. One student told me she purposefully saves her jeggings to wear each Monday and Wednesday. Smart cookie.
So, like so many fashion trends, I swore I wouldn't and now I'm thinking I might. Is it a pathetic attempt to not feel like a total mom dresser? Perhaps. Is it a good excuse to wear comfy as dance clothes clothing and claim an effort to at least try to put together something somewhat fashionable? Possibly. But I'm considering it, all the same. I'll keep you posted. (I know, you're waiting with baited breath.)

Last spring I swore to my friend that I would never, ever, ever wear skinny jeans and definitely not jeggings.
I bought my first pair in November. I love them. I concur on the cuteness on babies--Lydia has two pair--and have embraced them myself, especially with longer, tunic-y tops and flats, or boots. Do it! Do it!
I also understand the mom dresser fear. Attempt or not, jeggings are not pathetic. Stylish mom is fun, not pathetic!
Just do it, M. I tried on a pair at Urban Outfitters last October and I've regretted not buying them ever since. SO. COMFY.
Okay. Thanks for the comments lady. You've convinced me. I'm going jegging shopping. :)
