Solid Advice

In all of my parental pondering as of late, I was so happy to get to church on Sunday and hear this sermon, given by my friend John and called Shaping the Next Generation (it will only be on the main message page this week, so use the title in case you need to find it in the archive later!). My summary is not worth your time in comparison to the real thing - if you're a parent or hoping to be one soon, and if you're thinking about how to raise a child of faith as a Christ follower, listen to it. You'll be glad you did.

And while you're at it, you might check out John's sermon in the message archive called Becoming Like Children. I was seriously moved by this message, especially in my current phase of life, and have been meaning ever since to write a blog about trying to see the world through my daughter's eyes...but it's been a month and a half now of good intentions and no blog so I'll leave you to this link as well. And so it goes.

Happy listening!
