Colorado

The girl and I had the extreme pleasure of visiting beloved friends in Colorado two weeks ago. The trip was part of a strategic plan to help us not get too lonely/go too crazy in P's absence, and it surely did the trick. We stayed with my college roommate and kindred spirit Jamie and her husband Randy for a few days in Boulder, and then it was off to the Denver area to visit my life long (literally, nearly) friends the Turnages. Some pictures of our time - which was, for each and every second, absolutely splendid...

A loving the pool at Jamie's place...she's into the full arm, leading from the shoulder splash these days!
A and her new best friend Ken. She would wake up and start saying "kitty cat" repeatedly until we found the cats. Too cute.
Taking in the Farmer's Market in Boulder
 Beets! Gorgeous!
Watching a band play on Pearl Street. For the record, I loved Boulder. People compare it to Madison often, so I wasn't too surprised that I was smitten...lakes here, mountains there, but I'm sold on the city regardless.
We drove into Denver to have lunch with Uncle Jim, Aunt Chris and Cousin Christopher. Lovely.
And then took in the Denver Children's Museum for a bit!
A getting a massage from the newly registered (and totally amazing) massage therapist - not sure who enjoyed it more. Jamie also gave me a 2 1/2 hour massage, and I'm ready to make the flight to Colorado for another one any minute now. Holy wonderful.
In the Tea Tasting Room at the Celestial Seasonings Factory (home to our favorite blueberry tea!)
Playing at a park just outside of the Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs (cute little town, but I forget the name...). Thanks to Grandma L for the Husker dress, and to Kim for this picture and the following two as well.
Hiking at the Garden of the Gods
Super cool swing at the park. Can you believe I babysat for these two when they were babies?!?

I was (and am) so grateful for each moment we spent...for me, reconnecting, and for A, getting to know, people who are so significant to our story. A was a flexible, delightful, fun little trooper - she did marvelously on both flights and rolled with the punches all week long. It was lovely. Truly.
