- loving eating bananas, and literally shaking with excitement when she sees one coming her way
- talking to herself with a constant, happy babble
- trying to wave at everyone and everything...she's our little social butterfly!
- getting deliriously excited about the bath - kicking and squealing and talking as soon as the water begins to run (nothing cuter than a naked, happy babe!)
- seriously amping up her expressiveness - making tons of hilarious faces and being a super drama queen to get what she wants...empowering herself from early on, thatta girl
- playing her instruments - especially drumming (and mmmm, that kiddie drumstick is so delicious to chew on too!)
- scooch crawling and starting to pull up to stand - ahhhh so big!
- grinning with the biggest grin you can possibly imagine when she sees daddy and/or mommy
- working very, very hard to poop now that she's eating more solids - scrunched up red face, grunts and all (see the above banana comment...possible relation here)
- baby posture! it's amazing! Adah sits up better than any adult I know
- her intense, deep breathing when focusing very hard on something - especially something she'd like to get in her mouth
The details of my journey into self and others along this road as a mother, partner, teacher, therapist and searching human being. Alas, as Rogers would say, on my becoming a person...

These are a few of my favorite things...
Tonight I am thinking about Miss Adah Sophia, and how I selfishly didn't want to put her to bed because she is just that much fun to be around. So in honor of her 8 1/2 months of total and complete cuteness, please humor me in a possibly nauseating to everyone else blogpost about my peanut. A little list of my most favorite darling and funny things she is up to these days...

Adorable, Mariah. It is actually refreshing for me to see your proud mothering heart, not nauseating! Adah sounds like a chip off you blocks :)
I waited for cow milk until I was completely done breastfeeding (which was pretty late, honestly), and I introduced it as what absolutely needed to happen next: "Oh, you want milk? It's cow milk now, remember? I just make milk for babies." Even today, she still refers to it as cow milk, even though there's definitely not been mama milk for a while. Good luck, I'm sure it will work out!
