Hair today, gone tomorrow.

In June 2005 I had really short hair. So did my sister, Bekka. She inspired me with her goal to grow her hair out long enough to donate it in order to make wigs for people with cancer. Being as we'd experienced cancer first-hand in the years leading up, I decided to join in on the worthy cause.

Two and a half years later, both of our hair was finally long enough to cut and donate. We wanted to do it in honor of Dad, so picked what would have been his 61st birthday - November 21, 2007. Bek was able to cut hers on the actual day, and I chopped mine on Friday, November 23. We'll send our hair to the Beautiful Lengths campaign, where it will be used to make wigs for women with cancer.

It felt pretty good to make the length, and now my hair feels short and strange. How cool to know that we can do just a bit to tangibly help people suffering from the most horrid of horrid diseases.

So here are some pictures of the event...the day before and then doing the actual deed!

Good for you! Hard to believe your Dad would have been 61 last week. How the time flies.

Speaking of your Dad, and our connection, I've got news. Check out my blog for our big move!
