Surprise

Well. We "came out" to facebook tonight so I think I'll just get it all out in one foul swoop...

Yes, that's right. Surprises come in all shapes and sizes...ours came at the end of September, and keeps getting bigger and bigger by the day. As of today I am 16 weeks pregnant, and Baby L is due to make his or her arrival around June 3, 2010. The ultrasound pic above is from our 12 week ultrasound.

Just when you've convinced yourself that you're totally in control, yet again, God humbles you to remember that it just ain't that easy. This is the lesson I am destined to learn over and over again in my life, I do believe...

So, in very very short, that's the big news in our house. Paul and I decided to make our online announcements before my mom's Christmas letter hits the mailboxes sometime later this week and does that job for us. We're grateful, excited, overwhelmed, and I'm even more emotional than usual (yesterday, I cried five times before 2 p.m. - twice over Christmas songs). We would welcome any and all advice at this point as we make one of the biggest leaps in our lives!

(And yes, of course we'll find out the gender. I need to be able to plan, folks!)

Here's to a little tiny babe that will change the world...ours, at the very least.

Beautiful. The baby and your thoughts. Can't wait to see you as a Mama. It is both amazing and the most daunting thing you will ever do. The good news is that there are many amazing people who go before you...to support you and uplift you. Yea! And congrats!
