My New Best Friend

Introducing my new best friend...the Hoberman Sphere.

It's technically a science tool, I believe used for something astronomy related (I should have retained this information from my astronomy class in college, shocking that I didn't).

But forget science. This amazing tool, my friends, is the dance therapist's perfect prop. It contracts down to about a foot in diameter, and then opens up to a diameter of over four feet. It is big enough for people to go inside of, and the perfect illustration of both the motion of the lungs when breathing and of our own personal space bubbles. It is also very entertaining when used by certain unnamed husbands who use it for many varied and hilarious tricks.

I have a Hoberman Sphere at work but it's getting slightly (er, more than slightly) beat up. Thus, I ordered one last week to be my non beat up version, and it arrived in the mail today. I've been smiling dorkily at it all evening long. Yay Hobie.

It's the small things that count. Or better yet, the small things that open up to be really big things! Come to Madison and you can play too (enticing, I know!).
