Two Easters.

I'm on day 7 of 10 in the latest Chicago stint. Long one this week due to a weekend class. Highlights include:

1. Plenty of dancing and playing with my favorite 3 year old, Maddie. After finishing one dance show for her stuffed animals, she announced to me, "Ah-my (that's me) we are dancing too hard. Let's sit down and have a glass of wine." She never fails to crack me up. You got a date kid...in 18 years.

2. Lots and lots of class. History of mental illness anyone? How about proper assessment and documentation for patients? Thrilling, I know.

3. A weekend visit from Paul, which made me nostalgic for the "good old days" when he'd come to Chicago for weekend visits. Saturday we had deep dish and then went to see "Blades of Glory." Hiiiiilarious. Brought back memories of watching figure skating with the sibs, or playing "Olympic Games" on our ancient computer. It was a lovely Windy City night.

4. Now, a Monday in the charming suburb of Oak Park and a visit with my lovely Chicago roommate. And the weather is perfect.

Last night Joanna and I were talking about the fact that two Easters ago we spent the weekend hunting out our Chicago apartment. Isn't it amazing how life can change in two years? After we signed our lease I called my dad to tell him about our new place. Paul and I were just beginning to really discuss the possibilities around getting married. The whole concept of being a dance therapist was but some far off dream...

And so in a week I'll pick up my grad announcements. And drive back to Madison, my now home, where my husband will be waiting for me. Pretty mind boggling.

With that, I'll end this random post with a note from class last Thursday. I happen to think it is a pretty smart tidbit of thought:

People are anxious about meaninglessness because they know they have the freedom to make their lives meaningful, which includes the choice to make life meaningless.

Mmmm, go make some meaning.
